How many 7 wonders have you been to?
The New 7 Wonders website encourages people to vote for the "New 7 wonders" of the world. I think its a neat idea and hopefully raises interest in these magnificent places.
But it also turns things into a bit of a popularity contest, potentially on national lines. India has billions of people, and surely most Indians will include the Taj Mahal, while Petra will only have a much smaller Jordanian national vote. It also mixes too many types of wonders in my opinion. How can you compare the Eiffel Tower with the Acropolis? Both are truly wonders, but one is modern and one is not.
I noticed however that I have been to quite a few of the candidates.
