Bye Bye Acrobat!

In my last blog I expressed my frustrations with Adobe Acrobat Reader. I just posted this yesterday, and I am truly amazed at how many e-mails I received from readers. What amazed me was not just the number of emails, and not that others agreed with me, but that others strongly agreed with my sentiments. It seems there is a whole hidden community of user ready to vent. Maybe we should all write to Adobe? But what is even better, is the reader alerted me to a free third party reader that is slmi and trim.

Do I need to say anymore? I am now checking out Foxit Reader. From their website:

Foxit Reader is small (the download is less than 1MB), so it downloads quickly. It doesn't need any installation, so you can start to run it as soon as you've downloaded it. And It starts up immediately, so you don't need to wait for an annoying "Welcome" screen to disappear.

Needless to say I am downloading now, and hopefully soon after I will be removing that pesky Adobe Acrobat reader from all of my computers.

Addendum

WOW!!!!! I am now one to say wow easily - but it just works. And it is very fast. I do not even notice it loading. Double click a PDF and before you can lift up the mouse button you are reading your PDF!
