Looking for an Outlook replacement

7/23/2008

Outlook is a case study in voracious memory consumption. I desperately would like to find a replacement. My requirements are simple, but have been elusive for years.

Suggestions

Suggestions welcome! In the past I have tried Poco, Barca, and Thunderbird several times. They come close but cannot meet all the requirements.

Did you know it uses less additional memory than the GoogleMail alerter?! Only full Outlook seems to synchronise with phones, etc but I only use it as a go-between.

We would need most likely to replace the Outlook with some more sane program. Also interested Client/Server pair that could take over Outlook-Excahnge pair, Internal and External mails, multiple accounts and shared calendar. should post this to /. :D
