Is USB a deciding factor in choosing VMWare?
8/5/2008
I am looking for customers with large amounts of virtualization, especially Microsoft Premier customers, who have chosen VMWare over Hyper-V or Microsoft Virtual Sever with USB being a major factor of that decision.
USB is important not just in desktop virtualization for connecting to
smart phones and other devices, but it is often needed in server
environments for license dongles as well as sometimes for devices. VMWare has has USB support for many years, while Microsoft Hyper-V and other virtualization products do not yet have USB support.
I have made no secret that I am gung ho on Hyper-V, however I do a lot of desktop virtualization and USB is a requirement for me.
If have chosen VMWare over Microsoft and the lack of USB support in Microsoft Virtualization was one of the major factors, please leave a comment or contact me directly.
